About me

Fiona has loved all things fitness related since she was a child, playing at county level netball, senior hockey as well as county athletics. Her highlight playing netball for Scotland whilst at University and was awarded a blue! Fiona’s fitness instructor career has spanned over 20 years and she has many strings to her bow, after practising Pilates for 15 years she decided to take the journey to become a Pilates instructor training with TRAIN FITNESS.

Fiona loves that Pilates offers something from everyone; from clients with injuries to those looking to advance strength and even people taking their first steps to an exercise programme. It’s the many benefits, from improved posture, flexibility and core strength that makes Pilates so appealing. She said “Pilates slows things down so we can take the time to really focus on each exercise and do what feels right for each and every one of our bodies. The connection with the breath to the movements is something quite special. Pilates allows a lovely connection with the mind and body; a time to forget the outside world and just create a lovely feeling of wellbeing. It’s such a lovely feeling when a participant says they feel great after a class, or feel less pain or simply just say they feel they move better in day to day life.”

Fiona teaches our Tuesday 11am class in Bishopbriggs, she attends regular CPD courses and is a great believer in never ending self improvement. Outside the studio Fiona enjoys walking her dogs and competing with her horse. She is a keen skier and has worked both home and abroad as an instructor. She is also an advanced scuba diver.
